Through her various projects María José Gallardo has built up her own visual vocabulary. Her expressive lexicon always includes emblems, symbols, religious and esoteric motifs, heraldry, ex-votos or reliquaries. Her work allows us to conceive of painting in a sphere transcending strictly visual or aesthetic parameters.
